yourAudi - Track New Car Order

wooo mine is on its way to the uk!! excited is an understatement!! at least i am away for 4 weeks to curb the excitment.

My car is in quality control since sunday, but audi UK are saying it hasnt even gone into production and will go into production next week. Can anybody shed some light is my car actually built or not?

Mine has been in QC since week last Monday so quite a while. I would assume its stuck there like mine due to Xmas backlog

So mine has finally left QC and in transit.. Super excited now. Been in QC since Monday 11th. So 9/10 days.

Mine seemed to go through assembly very quickly and has been in QC for over a week now. I was in the dealership the other day and they say it's still in production.

Will be mid March before I see it anyway but useful tool to follow progress and help build excitement.

Mine was in QC for 10"days a few others were the same . Seem to be taking a while in QC. I assume Xmas backlog.

OMG OMG OMG. My build week was 25th January. As of yesterday lunch it still said that. I've just logged on today and the ticks have gone through to paint shop! The wording below the image of the car still says
A3
we are preparing to build your order

But maybe this is static?

Is there any way to see a proper timeline, e.g. what date/time the status changed?

You should just about get It for March. Mine was in prep stage for ages but went through to panel shop 5 days early. It's about 4 weeks from construction to delivery to the dealer from what I've read in this thread.

I've got A3 Sport Nav to on order too. My first Audi also. What spec you gone for?

Can't wait. Got a golf at the moment. Gone for one in ibis white with the comfort package on it and also privacy glass. Do a lot of miles and not fussed about top speed etc so gone for a 1.6 diesel.

You?

Does anyone know what the build weeks are? YourAudi says my car is due to begin construction on the 8th Feb. I've looked at the raw data and my build week says 201607 - i.e. BW7. But the dealer is saying BW7 is the week after on the 15th Feb

Also, you can view the the raw data by going straight to https://www.audi.co.uk/myaudi-public-api/services/v1/orders after logging in. This way you don't need to grab a hold of your order number and sticking it on the end of the other link

Quality control now for a few days... This seems to take 4 or 5 days is that right?

As in my sig. I'm the same I do between 19-24k miles a year depending on business travel, but 19k commuting at a minimum, so set my PCP at 24k per year. Im more concerned about mpg and running costs so went for 1.6 diesel. The 2l would be nice but a bit too expensive for me currently. I've gone options heavy perhaps to try and make it my own car, the cost of the options pretty much makes up for the discount. We'll see how it goes. The Other half now wants to get an A3 herself, but looking at used to keep costs down. We could end up having two white A3s sitting on the drive in a few months though! Not too odd round here, on my estate one house has 2 red fiestas, another house has 2 white cee'ds!

Just read back a bit and it does seem like QC is about 10 days, so I think mid next week for me.

Mine was in QC for 9 days. Just come out today and on its way to the UK

Mine was in QC for 12 days and collecting it this Saturday!

Mine has now moved to the panel shop.

Build date = 1st Feb

Preparation = 23rd Jan
Panel shop = 28th Jan

Emu feather time in the paint shop

Expected Build date = 1st Feb

Preparation = 23rd Jan
Panel shop = 28th Jan
Paint shop = 29th Jan

It certainly gives you an impression that the car does 1 phase and then sits still for the next. In reality it's a constantly moving car from one stage to the next and I imagine built in a day or 2

With regards to the assembly line, I don't think much happens in the preparation stage. Mine was there for a month in preparation. I imagine it's just making sure all the components are in stock for what you've specced and planning where in the assembly line it'll be.

The assembly stages all seem to flow; a new one each day. QA then takes 9-12 days, and I guess a further 14 days to ship to UK? So overall you're looking at about a 30 day process from end of prep to reaching the UK..

Expected Build date = 1st Feb

Preparation = 23rd Jan
Panel shop = 28th Jan
Paint shop = 29th Jan
Assembly = 30th Jan

Congratulations mate! Good luck waiting until the 1st of March though
Yes I know it'll be agony knowing its there....dreading them phoning to say 'you can collect it anytime'.....

If they offer me an incentive to pick it up early I may consider it

Mine has now gone to the In Transit stage. So QC was only 5-6 days for me. Perhaps whatever the backlog was it has cleared.

How do you know whether it will enter at Grimsby or Sheerness or Tyne? My dealership is Bury St Edmunds so d have thought Grimsby may be the closest.

I remember reading people saying they have tracked what ship theirs is on and stuff..

Just saw a thread where someone said they got £1k deposit off and £23pm off he finance. That would be so tempting.... I think you'd have to try and work out what the loss of value would be by taking it early...

For me I don't think I'd have a choice as I need February's pay to complete my deposit!

If you are taking it out on a pcp and looking to give it back then doesn't really matter in my opinion as end value is irrelevant. Would be down to wether of not you want a 65 or a 16 plate.

Expected Build date = 1st Feb

Preparation = 23rd Jan
Panel shop = 28th Jan
Paint shop = 29th Jan
Assembly = 30th Jan

Now for the quality control wait.
