hi all
just had the first cambelt /water pump/serpentine belt done on my 2011 2.0tdi
at 105,675 miles with audi grand total £580. got the old belt and it still looks fine no cracks ect.
had different advise from audi when i rang round as to when it should be changed, some say 70,000 or 5 years
one said 114,000 or 5 years. they seem to keep changing the goal posts

I know on my car (2009 2.0TDi 170 CR) the original recommendation was 120,000 which was then reviewed and lowered (I don't know to what). But I wouldn't risk an engine for the sake of £500. I do mine every 60,000 or 5 years whichever comes first :)

i think its all down to how the cars been used mine are all motorway miles. at least its done for piece of mind :)

Mine too are motorway miles, it is an ex-company car...I still wouldn't risk it. These days the belts are so strong the idler or tensioner will fail before the belt does.
