Instrument cluster swap

My display is knackered, if i were to just swap the cluster over will this bring on any immobiliser issues? I know it can on newer vag cars but not sure about my a3

Immo is in the clocks so yes as higgysmalls says it need coding immo

Cluster repairs was on Wheeler dealers - interesting as they take you through the process (18:49 seconds in):



might be worth a look as a replacment set of clocks and recoding my cost more.

Cheers for the info i've seen the wheeler dealers repair before but mines is totally knackered can only see the colours, no pixels at all and my date and time lcd is pretty much the same! Can only try though...
