Just a quick question... My girlfriend had just bought a brand new A1 at her local Audi Garage and she has just found out there is now a new model. Few things changed I.E New LEDS... I know it's minor but still annoying.
My question is there any pre warning when they start producing the new facelift?
My concern now is I have an A3 ordered for September and if they did a facelift a month after wouldn't be happy. :0

September seems an unusually long wait, is it a Saloon? Chances are the car you receive will be the facelift or MY16 model.

Hatchback, s-line... What do you mean by MY16 model? Well my dealer said be Available mid August so I said i will get it registered 1st sept.

MY = Model Year

Depending on the build week of your car, it may be delivered as an updated model anyway. Your dealer should be able to give you a definitive build week within 2-4 weeks of placing your order. From build week 22 onwards is when the MY2016 cars start to be built which have some changes, theres a thread about it if you search.

At the end of the day there is always a newer car around the corner, so you aren't really missing out as such!

MY16 is NOT a facelift. It's simply a few small tweaks. The full facelift will appear roughly halfway through the 8V's life, ie. 2017'ish.

Any idea when week 22 commences?

Is there anywhere official with this? Cheers

Build weeks always start on Monday, mine was on week 14 so I just counted up to 22. It's discussed in threads all over the forum.

Keep following this forum. And do some searching for old threads. You will discover how long it takes from BW to delivery and how to track your new car from port to port (if you are lucky)
Keep talking to your dealer and get the initial BW (this can change though)
Once you have a confirmed BW look out for a thread for that month's BWs and chat with those waiting as well. You will get loads of information.
But a word of warning - following the forum means you will change your options right up to the time the order is locked!!!

On the continent they live by numbered weeks. Week 1 is the week with Jan 1st in it. Simples...
Manufacturers and many other organisations in the UK work by the same Week Numbers. Most diaries and calendar software shows the week number as well.

As previously stated there will be no facelift due this year for the A3, only minor model changes which happen yearly these are small things like changes to engine performances etc. or slight spec changes.

It is the same with VW. Minor tweaks on build week 22 and 45. Though they did give the GTD/GTI the LED rear lights fitted to the R with one of these changes. That ****** a few people off! I think later models than mine also got leather seats.

I was test driving a Mk7 Golf GTD last weekend. The dealer said they were expecting the Mk8 (facelift) 2017. The A3 facelift should be out at the same time.

The MK8 will be a new car, not a facelift :)

Yeh I'm not expecting much, but what mean is for example the a1 minor tweaks ended up changing the LED style which annoyed my girlfriend. Things like that stand out to please like me haha :0

... will it be getting a new chassis and engines?

Will there be a new A3 at the same time as Mk8 Golf?

I personally think that it's very unlikely it'll get a new chassis. VAG have poured an insane amount of money in the MQB platform.

VW tend to release new models much more quickly than Audi do. The A3 8P was out for 9 years. In that time VW released the MKV and MKVI Golfs.

Yes, all on the same PQ35 chassis and using basically the same engines. AFAIK
