Hi.
I have a few question about the mufu SW.

I bought a mufu steering wheel for my audi a3 without mufu. The workshop said that it might work with some coding and maybe some wiring..he told me also that I need a new slipring for the new mufu SW.

the part number on the new SW is 8PO 419 091 DQ TNA. I read somewhere that I need the slipring with the part number: 1K0959653D. is this wrong?

Can someone help out with this one? Thank you!

Welcome to the site.

Depends on the year of your car, if you give us more info then maybe we can advise properly.

I found out about this site looking for some answer about these issues, so im glad I came here. ( wish I came bf since I had some issues with the headlight and I gave up, lost a chunk of money :(

But the car on the reg number is an Audi A3 2007 1.9 Sportback, at the Audi shop i got bamboozled bc the say that the car is a 08 model so I don't really know anymore lol. the chassis / registration number is: WAUZZZ8P98A043256.

Thank in advance!

I found this thread from this mike foster Fossie in 2013. Can someone confirm this or is he right or wrong? I don't feel like buying wrong parts again lol! :D :p

how do I know what modul my car has? I feel like a damn amateur! lol :p

You were asked what year your car is as that is important. Provided it is pre 2010 ish then this will help :-

The ONLY steering module that will work is part number 8P0 953 549 F. It must be 8P0 not 1K0

The correct slip ring for that module is 1K0 959 653 D which includes steering angle sensor. Sorry about the bold type but can't seem to remove it !

Slip ring may already be good, steering module may not, you'd need to check with vcds for this & the former requires a visual check only as you cant logon to the slip ring.

thank you for the reply:)
so what u mean is that I need to use vcds to run a diagnose and check if the module is the right one for the new mufu SW??

Well the mechanic at the workshop took out the original SW and said that new mufu SW would fit but a needed a new slip ring for the airbag and bottoms and maybe so wiring.

I really appreciate all the help I can get from u guys! :)

Yes vcds is needed or manually remove all & check the labels.

If he says this then decide what you want to do, as you're in Norway then I cant offer the solution directly :)
