Tyre Sizes

Hi Guys,

This is my first post, so please be gentle with me. Apologies if this is in the wrong section, feel free to point me in the right direction. Also i have already searched for the answers to no avail, but if you think a thread will help get me to the answer then show me.

I have a set of Porsche Twists to go on my 55 plate A3. They are 17x7j and 17x8.5j.
My question is this, what tyre sizes do people recommend I put on them? I am a complete noob when it comes to this so any advice is welcome.

On the 7J something like 215/XXR17 and on the 8.5J 225/XX/R17 will have slight stretch depending on the tyre. You will need 235/XXR17 for no stretch

I'm using my phone so can't but there are website you can google. Enter your factory sizes and the ones you want to use to keep circumference the same so the speedo and odo etc aren't altered

That way you can work out the XX above

I didn't know that so made an educated guess, obviously I was wrong lol

225 on 18 is 7.5J so I thought 215 for 7J

225 on 8.5J the tyre has a slight stretch depending on the brand hence 235 would remove the stretch

That was my thought process anyway bcos the diameter doesn't matter the width is at play here?
