What have you done to your 8V today?

Just thinking realistically really, goes without saying I seriously love the car, its everything i hoped it would be.
But, without going into numbers obviously, I have a lot of cash tied up in the car (big ol' deposit), monthly payments are very manageable, so not being able to afford it isn't the reason.
I can't justify having that in a car which literally hasnt moved an inch on the driveway for a solid 2 weeks.....7k miles in nearly 15 months, and if we don't include the one off trip round Scotland....5.5k miles in 15 months!!!!
Going back to a post i made a bit ago on here, what really makes me happy is going off with the dogs walking, so i've been thinking of letting the S3 go and getting a defender, which would have no monthly payments, wouldn't plummet in value so to speak, and I wouldn't walk past it on a sunday morning whilst loading my dogs into the work van.
Makes sense really and don't blame you. I wouldn't keep mine if I wasn't using it basically everyday.
Cut your loses mate cracking spec and a immaculate example good time to sell as new one's are non existent atm so you'd get top dollar for .. .at least test the water with it ... See how it goes

Based on your 5.5k miles Matt, I'm 100 miles a month ahead of you (around 8300 in 18 months) so still not a lot - love the car though and must admit I've not had any thoughts like you but then I don't have dogs to worry about. I didn't do a lot in the R32 either though tbh - around 6k a year most years even with a trip to the Nurburgring and back 3 of those years.
I guess really, the only person who can be sure what's right is yourself based on your situation - be sad to see you get rid of it but you have to do what's best.

Trust me Audi can't sell enough of quality performance cars atm, Jordan was offered a job back at Audi approved Hamilton with a S3 and more ££,because of the huge demand
lake district audi just now advertising for a salesman, I'd be happier a sport car specialist dealership type of spot took it off my hands, dont really want the hassle of privately selling
would like to think I'd be back in a S/RS in the future though, not fallen out with audis in the slightest

the car comes in wayyyy behind the dogs...they've always been #1! when a decision comes round like this, I normally already know the answer and just need someone to tell me to do it and act on it
Brilliant place to visit mate, doesn't take long for the urge to take the car round to get the better of you - about 5 mins on my first visit haha

Hamilton Audi is a approved used only dealership Audi are struggling in new car sales due to the wait on "all new model introductions" and "WLTP" car delayed models so used sales are on the up

TBH my experience of it is pretty much only Autobahn and the roads on the way to Nurburg - the Autobahn is great, even the parts with speed limits, the driving is a lot better standard than here I'd say too.
Sounds like you’re pretty serious pal - life is too short to think with your head too much, your heart will make the right decision. It would be one lucky buyer who picks up your S3 mate if you do sell - beautiful example.
A Defender is a difficult car to live with, but a very easy one to fall in love with, sooo much character and charm - prices ain’t going southwards either!
Had a top weekend away a couple of years back, green laning and wild camping on the Old Man of Coniston in the Lake District with a Defender we hired for the w/e. Great fun.

Here’s a left-field thought though, get a long wheel base Defender for work ad keep your mint S3. Best of both world’s buddy - just sayin’

its funny you say get a defender for work......we already do...a 110 aswell, so im well accustomed to driving one, but would love one of my own, many adventures to be had in one. and from what I've eyed up with a quick look on autotrader, it would be a good looking defender!

as I carry a lot of tools for work (and mountain bikes) and the fact I'm rather fond of the s3, I thought I'd give a boot liner from the hatchbag.co.uk a go. Have to say I'm massively impressed. Few creases to come out from transit but fits like a glove. I also purchased the extension which protects up to the front head rests for when the seats are folded. Not the cheapest but definitely worth the outlay

Went over to MRC today for Stage 2 remap.
Got miltek downpipes and R600 intake installed.
Before remap with downpipes and the r600 it made 315 ps with 408 nm
After stage two remap made around 400ps with 564nm
. MRC guys where awesome and tried to get the most out the car safely.
Was smiling all the way back on the 3 hr trip especially with the pops and crackles on overun!
Next step?....hmm maybe an intercooler

You’re doing well pal - when I was 17 I was running a Peugeot 205 1.1 Litre GL, with manual choke - lol. Thought I was the bees’ knees with my 55bhp!
Had one like this (and loved the balls off it - saved for a couple of months to get these particular hub caps as a ‘mod’ lol)...
Would have given my left nut (and probably the right one at a push) for this...
Thanks to the brilliance of the original hot hatches like the 205 GTI and the Mk1 Golf GTI, we’re now driving the cars we do (they look ruddy tiny compared to an S3 mind!).
How times change...

What car do you have bud? I'm with Admiral on my S3 and they came out miles "cheaper" for me. I was only 19 as well.

I'd hate to think how much audi would sting me for labour. I'm hoping it's a box out job and it needs to come out. Sachs clutch will be going straight on and stage 1 soon after. Need a power up soon. Missing the RS kick.
Been researching an upgrade to security, namely Autowatch Ghost (which looks v.impressive). Made me think of this, so looked it up on ‘the’ YouTube, and made me laugh hard. This must be 15 years old now, still remember PMSL the first time around. Comedy gold (and at a price you can afford - lol)...

It is a joke, Iv just bought a house and changing the address atm puts it up £800 for me!
I wondered now with all this GPDR stuff wether it is worth putting in a request to try and figure out what is pushing prices up !

I'm 17 with a 1.4 (150bhp) 8V. Searched for ages to find decent insurance as i was being quoted around 3-6k all the time. I'm now with Go Girl which seems to be by far the cheapest at 2.4k. Would definitely recommend getting a quote.

Went to Poland to retrofit PDC to front bumper and adding a readview camera :3
I really liked the quality retrofit was done Holders were melted into a bumper
Everything looks factory made
Finally my car has desired options Next retrofits gonna be ACC and lane assist
