Hello, I've got a Audi a3 special edition and has a basic central electrics module (E). I've bought a high line module (C) and I want to know what details I need to take screenshots of from the old module (E)? Also if I find that the (C) isn't compatible, does the old module work again without coding or do I have to code it again using VCDS?

Thank you very much!

(Did search the forum but couldn't find a 'how to' guide)

id recommend taking a screen shot of each byte, then plug the new one in and go through and tick everything that was ticked on your old one, if it doesnt work then yes your old one will plug right back in and be fine dude

Thank you very much! I just need to do that tomorrow and I'll let you know how it goes ! Thanks again.

should have gone for an F module, the C doesn't support bi-xenons whereas the F does.
Can't afford bi-xenons unfortunately, I'm a poor undergraduate :(
Also, I love your car man, looks stunning. Read a lot of your stuff and they are all so useful. Thank you for all the help :)

Finally got round to get the central electronics module swapped, was very easy to do and took 30 minutes.
Only annoying thing is I got 4 cut wounds on my fingers :sob:.
Also realised that I had to use long coding helper as copying the new code into the module doesn't work and throws an error 22 (as pictured).
I've attached few pictures to help anyone doing this in the future.
Thanks to @Ash187 and @phil miller !

you can't just copy and paste the whole code as they don't have the same options. you need to go through each byte and make sure that the correct option is ticked.

Yep, didn't realise that.
