Wing mirror compatibility

Hi All,

Just a little advice sought on this topic after a idiot knocked my drivers side mirror

Are the 8PA and 8P1 wing mirrors identical on pre facelift cars?

3 & 5dr mirrors are different shaped castings, mirror angles are different for lhd & rhd, however all 8P mirrors, as there have been 3 designs, from there respective years, 03-8, 09-10 & 11-13 are the same shape as such, although there are varied functions like electrically folding, dimming etc.
 
By different shaped castings, do you mean the lower part (the main body of the mirror) or upper colour coded cap?

I have been offered a mirror from a 3dr S-Line 2007 which has the same functionality as mine (heated and electric moving mirror glass, non-folding) but as its located at the other end of the country its not a gamble I'm willing to take, especially as no returns are accpeted.

If your car is 3dr & within the same years I've described, then it should fit fine, I cant be held responsible if it doesn't fit as I don't know your car or part on offer.
 
Then its not a direct fit.
