XS - Power Relentless X - Pro 4 Fitting and test

Are You still satisfied with v4 rentless manifold? no problems?
Also please let me know:
1. Do You still have some spare cooper gasket mani to turbo?
2. As I read OE bolts for manifold to turbo are pretty hard to use with v4 . Where may I get these bolts You used? Do You remeber the size?
Hey bud

Yeah I am hey best mod iv done on my car in my own opinion. I'm sold out on the gaskets I'm making more so should have by next weekend.

I can't remember the size of the bolts, sam might have a set for you if you want to contact him then it saves you the trouble of having to get.

Hi guys

So a customer of mine has a S3 and his stock Manifold decided to crack, looked at all the options and the Relentless V4 seemed like the best option. Got hold of XS power and they were more then helpful to answer my millions of questions so i decided to order myself one as well and also being the first in South Africa I was extremely keen to get cracking.
to be continued......

Any chance to fix the photo links?

Unless Miggz has changed hosts from photobucket then I doubt it unless you fancy gifting him $400 a year that they now want to allow third party hosting

Hope @MIGGZ doesn't mind I edited the photo links on photobucket so they now display. A bit more use to people wanting to see the pictures. @vtraudt .
to edit pictures so they display add ~original at the end of the link eg xxxxxxxxxxx.jpg becomes xxxxxxxxxx.jpg.~original
I have edited the links my build threads . Don't know how long it will work for .

Great write up this is going to help lots and lots of diy ers lol I'm interested in removing mine now..

as i could see the port on the flange was bigger but match porting the turbo to mani could work, was not going to do that as next up is BBT hybrid
Hello,
I’ve had a V-4 relentless manifold on my track TT for two years. All good , no cracks but,
I’ve been cooking turbo manifold gaskets
If the manifold outlet is larger than the ko4 inlet have I been roasting the back of the gasket ?
Any idea on gaskets for the manifold before I go through the pain of dismantling everything
Many thanks for any help.

It's usually the hotside which is cracked, and changes shape when the EGTs get up past 1100°C and breaks the gasket.

Good job with the manifold not cracking (yet) :)

I realise that,
Is it because the larger flange on the manifold is directly forcing exhaust heat on the open inner edge of the gasket ?
Any solutions?

I think it is because the cracks on the hotside open and breaks the gasket, by pulling it apart, they normally break on the firewall side, I had a 3rd of the gasket simply fly out.

if the hotside is cracked the gaskets will only last a few weeks.. i assume you're using stock stainless gaskets and not the cardboard junk which usually come with those tubular manifolds.

And I assume you're not putting the gasket on upside down as it looks right and the bolt holes are in the right place, but the collector and hot side have an offset hole, so some of the gasket will be in the channel and other will not be port matched correctly..the gaskets usually have a cut out to help (it's more common than you think a cheap Chinese k04 i got for my TT was designed with the gasket upside down, that's why they were so 89£ :D

I was told ( haven’t measured ) that the aperture on the v4 manifold is wider than the ko4 inlet ?
This would cause major gasket cooking as the inner edge of the gasket will be exposed.

Port match the turbo to manifold?

Although, you might end up like my AET Hybrid and Chinafold port matched, but impossible to get a gasket.. so (if) when I get round to sorting the clutch out, i need to remove the manifold and get it machined to enable gasket-less like the original AET-380 kits Bill@B5 used to do.
