Anti key cloning tracker

So it's just an additional immobiliser by the looks of it.
 
Expensive.
They will steal the car if they want it.
Bring out something to stop them and criminals counter it with something else.
never ending shi**y cycle of life.

Well yes, but that's the point. People ask what the point of trackers are and there are many chains of thought on that. This is the only one I've seen with theft prevention built in. Even if they steal your keys, or even clone them, the car won't start without the driver tag. The only way around this is a re-wiring job. Seems like a great solution to the advanced key worries for those who have it. I understand that this new product is a big hit with BMW and Range Rover owners.
 
most drivers will have the tag on there keys so bye bye car

then theres the if they want it that bad they will block you and drag you out the car.

one way or another they will get round it.
 
it was BMW's that were getting keys cloned within seconds by plugging a tool into the diagnostic socket. They have push button start so no need for an ignition key blade.

To drive off a car that has a physical ignition barrel your either going to have a blade cut for the ignition or be able to do an ignition bypass but then you'd still have to bypass the immo.

If you're that worried just get another immob fitted
 
I think this "tag" will be one that you carry in your wallet, so when your car tries to moves, and you/your tag isn't in close proximity with it, it will immobilise (in addition to the manufacturer immobiliser).
