S3, Great bit of kit... (and build thread...sort of)

As I'm on a winter go slow on the mods + the fact I'm spending all my pennies doing a bare shell resto on my 1971 Beetle I dont have a lot to report. I am planning my next moves with regards to seeing how far the TTE can take me...and beyond which all being well should start about mid March. I have just done a quick winter wash since the weather has relented for a day, there is something a little different about a clean car in winter, maybe its the light or maybe just that its a more rare occurance but she does look well today. The colinite 476s coat I put on her before everything turned nasty makes washing a breeze and she still beads up well after 3 months of bizarre weather. The eagle eyed will notice a change of back drop, I moved house over the Xmas break and now live on a building site...not ideal for keeping her clean.

Quick update. Will be transfering the private plate off her tomorrow, she'll be going on Piston Heads next week  . Had hoped to sell within ASN community but I guess anyone on here is probably already an owner.

End of an era, start of the next. She's gone off to a new owner who I have no doubt will look after her very well. Keep your eyes open for her, sure she'll be seen on here again.

I thought I would close this thread out by showing what is to come next. A bit of a suppose to me but there you go, everyone loves a change. Before I make the reveal I had something else in mind, that being a B8 RS4, as it turns out it didn't wow me quite as much as I expected, don't get me wrong it was very cool but didn't blow me away the way I expected it to. So I'll not be in an Audi from tomorrow morning, the following will be my new stead...

The left fielders choice for a V8. I have to say I loved it's manic personality, it may not have the presence of the rs4 nor quite the power, nor the solidity but it did something the RS4 didn't do and that exceed my expectation. Sometimes that's all you need. Let's see how I go with it.

Been a pleasure being part of this forum and I will continue to be a fixture I am sure, my love for Audi is still strong and I want to see how things move forward on the S3 front. I am sure S3Alex will be pushing the boundary ever further... I hope I never find myself next to him at the lights. Thank you all for a great couple of years, this forum certainly added to my ownership experience.

I have to agree with you. A customer of ours bought an RS4 avant and I was itching to go in it, when I did I was quite underwhelmed. Power was too smooth and not enough noise, granted you were going very quick in a short space of time but it didn't make enough of a song and dance about it.
Good choice on the Lexus though.

Bloke at work had the isf and the noise that thing made was unreal ! Good luck on your new adventure

Dt_racing - just wanted to say your s3 is being well looked after. Not sure what, if anything, I'll be doing to her in the near future.... For now, I'm just enjoying her as she is... which is testament to the tlc you've given her! Apparently there's a CD player and a radio on board somewhere, but I wouldn't know because the sound of what's under the bonnet is better than music!
