Folding avant rear seat

I tried to put down the rear seat in my avant to load some stuff in. Unfortunately the plastic lever broke on the passenger side. Now I can't fold the seats forward as I have a parcel shelf fitted.
Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to fold the seats forward.

Is there anything at all to get hold of? Or is it completly sheared off? Try leaning on the seat facing the back to release some of the pressure and see if you can move it, just a suggestion mate.

There's nothing to grab hold of at all the lever came away completely and the small spring flew into the front of the car..
