Hi,

My wiper arm cracked from wear and tear and needed replacing. My replacement came today andI took the nut off and went to replace the broken arm with the new one and it wouldn't sit flush, seems part of the original wiper arm is jammed solid on the thread and I've tried to get it off with mole grips, it won't budge. I've attached a few photos, please flag up if I'm totally wrong on what's happened or any advice of a cheap way to get this off. Being so close to the glass I'm a little worried of damaging something.

Thanks I'm advance.

You could use a bit of heat to try loosen the nut or soak it in WD40 - other than that, just remove the wiper motor all together and stick a bung in the hole in its place.

I have done the above in both my A3/S3 and personally I prefer the look.

could use a dremel and split the piece open , failing that a set of wiper blade removers may grip on it and pull it off

Small bearing puller. But be sure not to apply too much pressure onto the centre nipple.
But before, soak with +Gas lube for an hour or so.
