Has the callipers been moved or just photo?

Looks like yellow/ gold calliper which has moved up but is it just photo, assume the latter

This, plus maybe some of the sun reflecting off the disc?

No way is that the caliper.

My discs always have surface rust can it be prevented somehow? looks awful.

Rusty disc,might have been washed then not moved for a while,usually a sign of cheap disc and not a lot of use.

as above its surface rust and sun/shadow

rust can be a sign of both cheap and expensive discs!!

expensive ones have a very high amount of iron content which helps braking but they rust really quick

chances are they are just cheap ones though as high iron content discs are mostly on race cars and not cheap at all
