Clock swap?

Hey guys my clocks are broken well the display in the centre the pixels have gone
so I thought could I upgrade to s3 clocks do they have the same displays?
and will they be a direct fit?

What's your part number I'm sure I have a suitable dash available, and I'm in Wales and able to fit on saturday.

Other than that I see no reason an s3 wouldn't work, i have programmed 2009+ S3 dash into a 2007 non s car.

No idea on part number haven't removed them as of yet there is know real difference apart from the style and the fact they s3 lol just like the look and there is a cheap set on eBay👍
Do you know if the s3 have full centre display?

All the ones i have seen have, and the non s3 i have does aswell. I have just checked it and there are two missing pixel lines. Dont notice it when driving, but do with vcds output test.

What year is your a3? If it's a pre facelift I'm pretty sure the 3 plugs at the back are different to the s3. If It's a facelift then it should swap. Would just need programming in which @udi A3 can help in that department

the clocks i have are part number 8L0920980A
date stamp suggests late 99.

yeah im in the same boat but just bought my car so dont know what the differnce is withn pre facelift and facelift model.
my wee car is a A3 02 1.8 sport
