Hi guys im planning 20in wheels but a bit worried about Quattro/haldex problems .... does anyone run 20s on their rs3 im looking at 30 tyres and am wondering if that the rolling rad would be similar to the standard 19s with 35s?

Cheers sean

Civic Type-R's run 30 profile tyres. And quite a lot of them are either getting punctures or bending wheels.

Silly idea for numerous reasons, especially appearance.

Just my opinion though.

I have 255/30/20's and no punctures after 10000 miles. Now I've said that, I'll no doubt pick up a puncture today!

I’ve had 2 punctures on my 255/30/19s in 10000miles

One at 2500 miles (which I was extremely ****** off about) and one last week at 10000 miles. UK roads are a ****** disgrace!

TTRS. But can just about get away with it. I would say you would be ok on 20's.

I’m running 20” TTS alloys on my rs3 saloon.... can’t upload a picture at the moment with the 2MB max upload size.

Just be prepared to get wheels repaired/replaced god forbid you do get a puncture as there isn't much leeway between the 20 inch tyre and the rim!

Can't help you with how to upload pics, but i'll be checking for when you do as that's the alloys i'm considering for mine!

i'm sure they look spot on :icon thumright:

You need to use an app such Picture & Photo resizer, this will reduce your 2mb down to kb's....

Or if you use Tapatalk you can upload full size, I use the app just for that otherwise I’m on the browser on my phone.

Tapatalk it is then! Cheers guys.

So the TTS wheels were bought new, stripped, powder coated black, diamond cut, and clear coated.
They are fitted with 8mm spacers as the rims do get rather close to the shocks. Maybe 2-3mm clearance max!
I would like to lower the car 25-30mm like I had the S3 as it sat really nice.
In the pictures below there’s quite a bit of arch gap that needs closing.

Apologies for the pictures, they aren’t the best. When I get a sunny day outside I can take some better pics.

(Picture of Green saloon was with wheels fitted on my S3 saloon 25-30mm lower than factory)
