S3 MPG -what's yours?

Any reason other than price I assume you changed from V power to Tesco ?
Yeah. Once I realised V power was about 11p more a litre where I live I was like le **** off.

I'm interested to know too. My dealership told me to stick in BP or shell. V Power is now at 1.30 in my area, she said I can use the fuel saver but providing it ain't from a super market. Though I thought Tesco 99 was decent? Least it was in my previous car.

Well, essentially it was over 8p a litre different when I switched. Once I filled up with V Power and it was like £70, on Tesco it was £60 or something. That's quite a difference.

Some tuning site did a proper fuel test and Tesco 99 came out better for torque and power than any other brand, though almost down to negligible differences with V Power. Btw BP was the worst by miles, almost as bad as 95.

If you're a Tesco person whack your club card in to get free fuel later on. Plus Tesco quite common. But Shell do have triple points on V Power atm.

Alas I have to confess that I was sure the engine sounded happier and was more urgent on V Power, and also that mpg around town seemed to be a little better, but I never did a concrete test. The stats and power curve on the test suggest the more mpg was likely fallous. Rest probably psychological - I'm a down to Earth kinda guy.

In two non-related events, I stopped driving everywhere like a **** about the time I switched fuels, but car feels fine to drive and I have an extra ££ in my bank account.

Interesting. I'll give it ago, Problem is BP garage and Shell garages are close to me. But next time I'm near a Tesco, I'll try something new. I am a massive points / Clubcard fan haha.

about 26MPG at the moment on my journey to and from work each day (8 mile journey). Hopefully that'll change when I move jobs soon

Checked my Long Term figures this evening... car still brand new, so no complaints with 31.1mpg so far.

Admittedly I've only done 80 miles in total so far, but I got an average of 27 mpg on my commute of 20 miles each way on Friday. Mix of 60 & 30 mph roads. Drive Select in Comfort, driven sensibly.
Was hoping for more as that's what I got (even slightly less) in the S5, but it's early days and the engine will no doubt loosen up a bit too.

£1.30 lol, Tesco 99 in Hull about £1.16 at the moment, on a full tank that's 55 x £0.14 which is about £7.70... Times that by how many tanks you currently use a month. If it's only 1 it doesn't matter a jot, if you're using 1 a week that is £30.80..half a tank free at the end of the month....plus Clubcard points. Adjust for your own fuel prices..

Filled up again tonight, £40 for 150 miles. wasn't impressed, then I realised how my drive on Friday went.. Smiles all round! - I've done almost 1k miles in the first month of ownership. Proud, but now hopefully I can calm down a little!
