My wife bought a 2019 Q2 S-line in October, it doesn't have mirror dip on reverse activated and she'd like it to avoid damaging the 19 inch alloys :)

On her previous A1 and my S1, we activated the mirror dip via Carista and had no issues. However, we can't seem to do this on the Q2, although it says active nothing happens when she reverses.

I'm assuming Audi may have tweaked something that is stopping Carista activating it, either that or the 2019 Q2 doesn't have this feature unless spec'd when buying?

Any thoughts/advice would be welcomed. Our local independent Audi place thinks their VCDS person can get it working but that's a £70 call out and no guarantees.

    Thanks

Tbh the coding changes between releases, so it's possible yours has too.

It’s fine on my Q2 but it is 2yrs old so maybe something changed. Unless the mirror side isn’t selected but you seem to have experience with this kind of stuff so I would just fault find and try re-coding with Carista a few times.

Maybe you guys could compare coding to see if anything seems changed.

Thanks all - I reported it via the Carista Beta twice and they've sent updated beta's to test - I don't know however whether these are in response to my reports or the many others they probably receive.

I'll try again this weekend and see if it's any different - I appreciate the feedback though

Cannot be done on new MQB platform vehicles.

Really? Not even at an Audi dealer?

Passenger mirror dip on MQB cars is part of the power adjustable, heated and folding mirrors option. From 2013 to late 2016 is was possible via coding, for the most part, to activate the feature without having the supporting hardware. With the introduction of FL A3 and now other vehicles based on the MQB platform, including Q2 Q3 A1 and A3, Audi have locked this down. Want mirror dip? Need to retrofit folding mirrors.

*relates to MLBEvoII platform vehicles also.

but would this have changed for the Q2 as it hasn’t had a facelift yet & was first introduced in 2016? Mine has heated, power mirrors but with no fold or dip feature. I activated the dip via Carista. Mine is a late 2017 model and as it hasn’t had a facelift then I would assume all Q2s are the same?

The "facelift" within the A3 world happened at approx the same time as Audi's control module / electronics change over, which is why the two are lumped together, this does not mean however that Audi was not using up what it had left over in its parts bin labelled "A3" when it comes to the Q2 and why some vehicles may have mirror dip working via software only. OP has a 2019 vehicle which is well in to the revision and will not work. Yours is a 2017, early Q2, so kinda explains why yours works.

Understood. I thought these things only changed over at facelift time but then if the Q2 was using the A3 parts then it makes sense to change them as no point in producing the old for the Q2 and new for the facelift A3.

Thanks all, I'll let my wife know this evening that she'll need to adjust the mirror the old fashioned way when parking to keep those 19 inch alloys from getting scuffed!!

Appreciate the help and advice, saves me wasting any more time on the Carista beta doing data dumps etc.
