My 2018 SQ5 is due an inspection and oil change soon. Called up the Audi servicing line and they quoted £579. Is this the going rate? The inspection is due in the next 28 days and the oil change is due in September, so I can save about £100 getting the inspection and oil change done at the same time.

I have asked for a discount based on we've bought 4 new Audi's in recent times from the local Audi dealer. Waiting for the call to see if I can achieve an discount (aiming for a 10% discount at least).

Lets see what happens? Don't really want to go to an indepentant just yet as to me the car is still 'new'.

I’ve been quoted £495 for the oil change and inspection service. In the West Country. Mine is a 67 plate SQ5 with 16k miles.

I have found huge discrepancies for serving costs across the dealer network. West London Audi wanted £700 for the same thing - they are also an option for me.

Seems odd. I did raise it with Audi UK via social media but they didn’t want to know.

Apologies, as I didn’t know your SQ5 was over 3 litre, but well done for getting a lower price....hopefully!! :icon thumright:

Service plans are not avalible to S or RS models over 3000cc which my SQ5 is. Thanks for the link. Anyhow, it looks like I might be able to get the inspection and oil change done for under £400 at an Audi main dealer - waiting for the final call.

I got a service plan with my 2018 SQ5. I’m low mileage so I got cover for 5k miles per year (4 year 20k total) for £23/month. I am on annual fixed date servicing so this gives me 2 oil change and 2 oil change + inspection services. 2nd year service booked for next week. £276/year is not cheap but acceptable.

How have you managed to get a service plan on your SQ5? When I enquired for a service plan I got told that these aren't avalible to S and RS cars over 3 litres? Booked in for an inspection and oil change at Audi for £400 later this month, my oil change is 2 months away so its cost effective to get the inspection and oil change done at the same time.

.........i was told the same,no service plans on any S, RS & R8 models. Find a good independent Audi/VW Specialist. Miles better & lots cheaper.

The SQ5 has a 3 litre engine, and so by definition it’s not over 3 litres. My dealer (Chingford Audi) were happy to give me a quote for a service plan back in May ‘18, maybe your dealer wanted to get some of that discount back at service time...

To finish off this thread (and for those interested) I had Audi York complete the inspection and oil change yesterday. Total cost £405 (had to pay an extra £5 for the sanitisation). Overall happy with the cost, also had some recall work done at the same time too (on the front window regulators?).

Anyone in the Yorkshire area give York Audi (JCT600 franchise) a call, I found them more than willing to negotiate on the servicing costs compared to Sytner who I bought my SQ5 from.

My Audi was from JCT600 Hull, and they were a pleasure to buy from - also gave me a service price to beat the local dealer with when it needed servicing down south.

£5 for sanitising - interesting. Maybe we will try that with our hotel customers..... an extra charge for the extra sanitisation, cleaning and such, but not sure we could get away with it!!

Due to various, mostly Covid, reasons I have not yet had this done. So I thought I’d have another ring around the dealers within a 25 mile radius to see who could do this quickly and for what price.

Time frame seems to be mid to end of July but the prices quoted have been eye opening:

£613
£531
£485
£419

Now that’s nearly £200 difference for what should be an identical, main dealer, inspection and oil service.

Reminder to call around...!

^This, shop around. I too had the same experience. A few calls made and I too saved almost £200.

I had an local independent VAG specialist quote me £395 for an inspection and oil change but I managed to get an Audi dealer in York to the same work with the difference in costs being another £10.

FYI Invoice for 2nd year service on my (now sold) SQ5 was £400 inc VAT and ~£60 of this was for a brake fluid change. Didn’t cost me a penny as it was on the service plan costing me £280/year. All done at Chingford Audi in North East London.
