Just got into the car this morning and appears that the air con light wont stay switched on. As soon as i take my finger off the switch it goes off.

The car is new for me and under warranty but is a 2013 tdi s line. Any ideas?

Thank you

If its still under warranty, take it to a dealer.

Do you have the Fan Activated before pressing the AirCon button.
This nearly caught me out on a car once.

My AC has decided to stop working... i fear i have a hole in the condenser. fml.

The N280 valve was a common failure on the 8P could also be that if Vag still fit the crappy denso and sanden compressors.

Thanks for the links and comment. I have called the dealer and taking it in next week for them to sort. Hopefully it is just the G65 sensor and not the condensor damage and it will get done under used car warranty.

I will post an update once it has been repaired

The guy who I bought it from took it to independent specialist who just re-gassed it.

I would have thought they could re-gas it without using it? So why should the light be on. The light going off tells you it's empty or there is another issue ie leakage.

Just got the diagnosed. Mine was due to the Compressor being broken. Waiting to see if it is covered under extended warranty

Update on this. Just had to take the car in again as the aircon would not blow cold air /initiate aircon. Now diagnosed as being the Condenser. Audi extended warranty would not cover the part but paid for the labour .

Anyone have fitted a part or is there a way to protect condenser from future stone damage?

You would have thought car manufacturers would put a mesh in front of the radiator and condensor to protect them from debris... I don't know why they don't do this

Mine was done at North Wales Audi. Do you know if there is any part around to protect it from happening? Very annoyed as not that long had it and nothing to say that it wont happen again...

Same here re not owning for long.
Found a thread on here started in 2014 bemoaning the amount of people that have had our problem, and why Audi have done nothing (and aren't interested it seems) to fix the issue.
Some owners have resorted to cable tying sheets of black plastic ( abs ) mesh to the inside of their front grille to try and prevent stones hitting the condenser. You can get these easily enough from DIY stores, or from ebay, and this is the way I am considering going. Anything to help prevent continuous replacing of an expensive part, wholly due to Audis design fault.

Yes, I read that thread. Seems that we are in the same position as they were in 2014. It's not right having to result to cable tying on a front of a relatively new audi is it!

Do you think you can fit/feed the abs mesh through the current grille without having to take the front end off?

Can you post how you get on and how it looks as I am thinking I should try the same on mine.

Thank you

From what I read in that 2014 thread, there should be no need to remove the front end.
Will let you know how I get on.
