2012 A5 Nav Maps?!

Is there anyway I can upgrade my map to a newer version on my A5?

If so what do I do or who do I take it too?

You can do it with an SD card and take it up to 2016 along with the firmware.

Go onto A5-OC for full details, MMI updates.

No that's a whole different ball game. If not activated it's an Audi dealer only, fix!

I contacted a guy on ebay who can do it for £99 but needs my car for 3 hrs?!?! Problem is he's a 6hr drive away!!! Does anyone near Glasgow do this do you know?

After various emails back and forth today I'll be attempting it myself, I payed £104 for update and postage from him. His name is Julian and his email address is vag.technik@hotmail.com
If you want to wait until I receive mine then I'll post up with the result

Have you read the thread over on A5OC? Pretty sure he has all the files and step by step instructions to do it for free.

Plenty of friendly people to help you out if you need it too.

Think he was talking about the A1, agree though that I'd do as much research as possible before trying it.

Well today the SDcards arrived......

so I got to work! First stop was to purchase a battery charger as the updates would take 3hrs.....

Hooked up the car and followed the emailed instructions! Pretty straight forward tbh.

The first upload for the MMI took 30 minutes, second upload for Maps took 2hrs 15minutes and the license update to under 2 minutes.
