Hi,

I have recently bought a 2010 Q5 with a gearbox fault, when in gear it would start moving but then lose drive (as if the clutch had been depressed in a manual car) then regain drive. It does this continuously so is not fit to use at all.

After taking it to a specialist they suggested replacing the clutch pack as it had been run low on oil (Not sure how low or for how long).

After replacing this the fault seemed to clear, but only for around 3 - 4 miles unfortunately. (Maybe when it got up to temp?)

After plugging it in to VAG COM this is what it came up with:

Address 02: Auto Trans Labels: 0B5-927-156.clb
Control Module Part Number: 8R0 927 156 L HW: 0B5 927 156 E
Component and/or Version: 0B5 30 TDIRdW H03 0002
Software Coding: 000001
Work Shop Code: WSC 09550 758 180955
ASAM Dataset: EV_TCMDL501 A02044 (AU48)
ROD: EV_TCMDL501.rod
VCID: 448D0E25CF0AE91E1A-8010
1 Fault Found:

8962 - Clutch 2
P17D7 00 [101] - Pressure too High
Not Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00000001
Fault Priority: 2
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 40
Mileage: 163552 km
Date: 2009.06.26
Time: 00:43:33

Can anyone help as I need to get this fixed asap?

Thanks

Hi, You have taken it to a specialist and they attempted to fix it and they have clearly failed. Who did you take it to ? Was it an Audi specialist dealer or a company that deals with these gearboxes.
As you bought the car with a pre existing fault I hope you got it really cheap. I would have factored in the cost of buying and fitting a warranted second hand box as that is possibly where you may end up.
These things are incredibly complex and if it has been run low on oil there is a possibility that a change of mechatronic may resolve it but there may be physical damage to the box.
There doesn't seem to be any really cheap fixes with these boxes when they go wrong.
I presume the specialist performed the basic setting for the box.
