Have owned our May 2010 3.0ltr Allroad from new. Car went in for it's first service on Feb 22nd and when we got car back we now have noisy fuel pumps. Have been told by dealer that they installed a software upgrade that has changed when the fuel pumps prime. When you turn ignition on we now have fuel pump whirring noise for 3-4 secs and also when ignition is turned off for approx 2-3 secs. Also when car is running we can now hear the fuel pump. Dealer accepted after the software upgrade that fuel pump/s were noisy and has changed the pump in the tank but car is still noisy. They have said thay cannot install the original software so this is as good as car gets now. If demonstrator had been this noisy we would not have bought the car. Has anyone else had a similar problem with their Allroad? When dealer gave us A5 diesel courtesy car you don't hear the fuel pumps priming or running when you drive car. Audi UK have suggested taking car to another dealer for a second opinion but really fed up as car was perfect before it went in for the service. regards Keith

Car has now been into a different Audi dealer who has changed the pre supply fuel pump but fuel pump noise is still loud when you turn key and the fuel system primes and also can still hear pumps when car is running. As no-one else has replied I'm assuming that after software upgrade on similar cars the fuel pump noise is not noticable so must just be my car. Sat in new Allroad 3.0ltr to compare fuel pump noise and when the pumps are priming could just hear a faint humming noise not a loud buzzing.
