Currently working on an A5, just giving it a major service & fixing a few faults and giving the car a bit of a spit & polish as it were. So I have driven the car for the first time today and the steering is very heavy, to the point where I feel it would be uncomfortable to drive around town, for an length of time. Can anyone confirm if there steering is light or heavy. The car is a 2010 model with the 2.0 TDI engine & manual box.
I used to have a 2009 A4 Avant and the steering was a real work out. Very heavy in deed. My 2016 A5 is light as a feather almost steer with 1 finger. I had it checked out few times and was told it was normal. I used to think my power steering had died it was that bad. Dunno what others think. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Yep, it's been a few years since I've driven a car with fluid base power steering, as both my Audi's have electric. However I don't remember it being this heavy.
Thanks, will check that steering knuckle in the linked thread to start with https://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/857628-Power-Steering-Issuehttps://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/857628-Power-Steering-Issue I'm also going to change the pass fluid as well.
