[2008 A3 TDI Sportback] Heater blower issues!?

Hi All,

The names Damien and I am a new A3 owner as off yesterday.

Driving the car today I noticed a strange noise which seems to be coming from the interior heater blower. If I knock around that area it stops for a short while but soon returns. Sounds like the bearings on the motor are failing or running dry?

What would you guys suggest and is the blower easy enough to access?

i would suggest going under the bonnet ,removing the trim near the wipers to gain access to the heater blower motor inlet and spraying some wd40 in there ,just to see if it quietens it ,may help if not you might be looking at a motor swap

Thanks for the suggestion. Will give that a go tomorrow!

Do you know much about changing the motor itself ie. is it hard to access etc?
