Hi all,
I have for sale my A4 Avant which I bought in January as a stop gap between my A6 and next car as needed to free some funds up for my wifes maternity leave. Now I have a new car on order, this one needs a new home!
I'll assume if you are on here looking at this ad, you'll know a bit about the B7 A4 anyway so won't list full spec. Number plate is blurred as it is on my private plate currently. This will be changed back to the original before sale (PM if you want to do MOT check etc)
Highlights:
2008 (08reg) B7 A4 Avant S-Line 2.0tdi 170bhp in grey with full 2 tone leather interior
129,000 miles (although increasing daily)
6sp manual
Sat-Nav (RNS-E)
Bluetooth
Heated front seats
Cruise control
2 new front tyres
I did an oil and filter change in line with its service interval a month ago so isn't due for another 7000 miles / 330 odd days
Full service history
Cambelt changed in January (at 119,000)
MOT'ed last week (28th Aug 19) - passed first time, only advisory was wear to edge of rear tyre (the previous owner had the tyre pressures completely wrong so this has been rectified with common sense)
Great bits!:
- I had the oil balance shaft and hex key changed to an uprated one in February this year to prevent the notorious oil pump failure. This cost over £700 however is better than a 2k repair for when it would have gone wrong (the original was showing signs of wear). This is almost a must for an A4 2.0 TDI owner around this era and very few A4's have this done proactively!
- The interior is in really nice condition considering the age of the car.
Good bits:
- I replaced the whole centre console surround to remove the irritating phone cradle so it has the benefits of bluetooth without the downside of that stupid cradle sticking out.
- Its averaging 50mpg on my commute to work
Not so great bit:
- Front N/S clip on the bumper is broken so the bumper isn't quite flush with the body work by the light (believed to be from a previous mechanic yanking at it!). That being said the car has no other body damage other than this apart from age related marks.
For those of you who have done your due diligence, you will have noticed me posting about a rough idle in the car and labouring a little around 2k rpm - this has been fixed. It was a simple case of when the cambelt was changed, the timing wasn't set properly. I had a VAG specialist sort this and its been running perfect since.
I use this car to commute 160miles a day, 3 times a week, and its been flawless (apart from the above mentioned timing issue which to be fair wasn't a mechanical defect). Its still running really well and I'm sure will continue to do so for many more miles.
Price: £4000 - located in Taunton, Somerset.
PM if interested. No time wasters please.
