Hi, I've recently bought a 2002 Audi S3, and when i bought it the esp light was on.
I've had it over to a friends house and he used his VAGCOM on it and came with the following results:-

address 03: ABS Brakes
2 faults found:
00814 - Solenoid for Brake Pressure (n247)
35-00 - -
00812 - Brake pressure Release Solenoid (F84)
35-10 - - - Intermittent

only other faults were to do with my alarm horn and Xenon level control system.

When buying the car he said he replaced the abs module because the abs light and esp light was on but once replaced the esp light remained. how much of this is true i'm unsure.

Incase it matters the car requires two new rear tyres as there worn on the inside, and front shocks as one is burst, I've ordered replacements for this so it should hopefully be here next week, but the shocks need to come from Germany, so will take longer.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as how to fix this problem?
cheers

Clear the codes and see if they come back / the light goes out.

If they come back I suspect the guy you bought it off didn't change the abs pump.

Hi thanks for your reply, what I've posted is what came back after clearing the codes, is it definitely the pump that need replaced or could it be the servo? Anyone had any experience with this type of problem
Before?

That's what the fault code returns on Ross wiki :)!

Thanks what is the brake recognition switch? Is that the one at the pedals?

Is there any way to check it's working? Or do I need a replacement? Thanks

I had the same problem. Repaired abs pump. It was still on. Turned out to be the haldex ecu.

Didnt see the codes as dealer I purchased it from was liable. But had the same story you described. Finally fixed the error after they had the car for almost two months.

Just had mine fixed, 1hr on my father in laws Snap on Solus ultra,
Steering angle sensor, Everything on the car works now :)

What fault codes was thrown up when you had yours checked?

What fault codes was thrown up when you had yours checked?

00778 Steering angle sencor
00812 Brake pressure release solenoid
01217 Side air bag
00526 Brake light switch
01367 Central looking pump run time / leak
01134 Alarm horn - sporadic, Terminal 30 missing ?

Central locking pump was after I removed and re joined a broken wire,
which im guessing was terminal 30 :)
No longer have brake light switch fault as this must have been something to do with steering angle being wrong :)

That was lucky that it sorted the other faults, I'm going to have to get this on vag com again, hopefully I'll find a sensor somewhere that needs replacing rather than replacing the servo :/

Id been watching a new steering angle sensor on ebay ready to pay silly money for it just to sort my ESP light,
As it turns out it would not have sorted the problem, I thought it would just be a case of replacing my old "faulty"
sensor with a new one,
But would have needed it setting up the same as mine was, Somebody must have removed the steering wheel
on my car and not set the sensor up after, My farther in law saved me hundreds of pounds with his £2000 snap on solus :)

Well to be honest I do need two rear tyres and a new front shock because it's burst, all of which should be here this week, will get this replaced first, alignment done and clear the codes and see if it changes anything from there, if not then the servos getting it
