I'm a new owner of a 2001 S6 with 110k on the clock. Gearbox isn't the smoothest so i'll get the transmission fluid changed and clean the speed sensors as mentioned on a previous thread. If this doesn't cure the problem and the gearbox is knackered, can anyone tell me a best/worst cost for a new one.
I've never liked auto boxes and the car would be perfect with a manual- would it be possible (or financially viable) to convert in the event of the current box failing. Would a manual box from a newer S4 be an easy fit?
