Does anyone know the correct part number/s for a 2001 AMK engined S3?
I've got one number off the pump part of the controller 8N0614517A and the other one from a VAGCOM scan which is 8N0907379E. Which one is the correct one, I've also got the scans if they are any use?
Cheers

if you call the stealers and give them your registration they should be able to tell you, they vary....

don't want to depress him...besides, may not be the same problem I had...

Well judging by the fault codes its fecked so needs replacing or going off to bba-reman. Just hoping to find one at the scrappers or cheap on ebay. If I can and it works great if not I'll give it a go doing the solder mod before sending it off to bba as if I can fix it that way would still be cheaper than sending it off and still have a spare.
Was depressing when I let Audi look at it for an ABS fault and an MOT and they said to do all work for the MOT, advisories and service would be £4200+ dont think it would depress me that much!
Yet if I do the work and replace the suspension parts with Ess-threes performance suspension setup it will cost less than half that! (Those stickies are awesome for those that havent read them)

Called the stealers to order a steering angle sensor, apparently the guy on the phone said they aren't allowed to give part numbers out over the phone. Hopefully I have more luck when I pick the part up!

I've read that a fault can crop up due to the steering angle sensor, would be a lot cheaper if that's all it is. What symptoms are you getting ??

ESP and ABS lights and the big read exclamation mark on all the time even as soon as turn the ignition on. Tried clearing with VAGCOM but doesnt work. Codes say no signal from steering angle sensor and doesnt change in the blocks whilst turning the steering wheel so 99% thats knackered. Also not getting any signal from the ABS controller so think unfortunately that may have the dry joint problem.

yeah that's pretty much what mine was doing, except mine couldn't be the cheap option could it....Lol

I'm hoping it's the solder thing otherwise it's going to be the expensive option too!

Do you (or anyone else for that matter) know what the procedure is for coding the ABS controller if I have to get a new one?

When i had the problem with my car i went to see my local specialist who has always done work on my cars, he wouldn't touch my car, he didn't want to get involved with the abs system....he said they could replace the module for me at a few hundred quid but couldn't gaurantee it was going to cure the problem, hence a large bill from Audi....i phoned around scrappy etc but the modules tend to vary quite a bit, even on a car the same age, engine and spec....

What did Audi do then, just recode the unit or did they replace it or was it a little more complex than that? If I knew how to do the coding I'd do it all myself and save myself a fortune.
Having a look on Ross tech about coding control modules, as long as the coding is 00000 inputting the original code in should resolve the incorrect coding.
Will make a walkthrough when I come to do the control module (what ever I have to do) as there is a few for the steering angle sensor already but can't really find anything for the ABS control module.

they ended up replacing the unit, I was told the old one was knackered...
