2001 a4 wont start......PLEASE HELP

hi, i recently bought a 2001 audi a4 2.0 se petrol. all seemed fine until one day it would not start. we eventualy narrowed it down to the fuel pump. we purchased a second hand unit, bench tested it, and the motor seems to work.
upon putting into the car,it seems not to work, no buzzing noise from the motor and car wont sart.
anybody got any ideas?
please help, i want to enjoy driving my new car

Ok, so now I would work back from there and check power to the fuel pump?

Does the old unit work when bench tested?

Have you checked any related fuses and/or relays?
