Further to my thread below about Double Flushing Multitronic oil change, I am also going to get my turbo checked as I have conflicting advice on overboost.
Midland Turbo at Nottingham are Garrett Turbo specialists and have told me that they can put my turbo on their test rig and tell me if it has any faults. If it has they will completely recon it in two days and charge about £350 which sounds very good to me.
Can anyone advise me of either how to get the turbo off, or of a good VAG technician in the North Lincolnshire area who could remove it for me, please?
I have had a good look at the turbo and the 4 bolts to the manifold and 3 bolts to the exhaust don't look too bad, but I cannot see how one could get at or remove the oil return pipe which must be fixed underneath in some way. Being right at the back of the engine, accessibility is not great.
Any help would be much appreciated. Chrisavant
