2.5 v6 tdi cams

Hi, probably covered before but is it all engine codes that suffer with the cams wearing?
or just certain ones?
Mines a AYM, a little concerned!
Also, got an oil leak from top of engine, very difficult to see exactly where. Any common leaks?

Take the rocker covers off and look at the cams, i have had cars with over 200k with no wear on the cams and cars with 150k on long life servicing which had cams changed ! Usually is oil retention valves not keeping oil in the heads overnight and longlife intervals/poor quality oils that kill these engines, they are good with regular maintenance !

Thanks Chris, will look over next few days. There's no performance loss, just a slight noise from left bank to the rear.

hi where is the oil retention valve is it easly checked/ replaced?

There are 2 oil retention valves, under the oil filter housing buried deep under the injector pump !
