Hi,

This question hasn't been answered for a while so I was hoping someone could help. I've got what sounds like a noisy clutch release bearing which I suspect would require replacing. It seems prudent to change the clutch at the same time as I 've recently bought the car and don't know when it was last done. Would the Dual Mass Flywheel need replacing too?

Does anyone know how much it's likely to cost to replace? I've seen some scary prices.

I paid £170 about for my clutch kit from gsf car parts and labour is about £350

Thanks for that. Is yours a 2.0 TFSI too? Am I right that the Dual Mass Flywheel will need replacing too or is that not the case?

Mine is a 2.0 tfsi with the bul engine special edition my dual mass was ok was told there more prone on the diesels they will check it for play once the box is out

Can speak for 2.0 tdi 2010 engine and been told, once you're there, might as well get DMF done. You don't want to pay labour twice in case ...
Paid £750 last year for dmf, clutch kit and labour. 115k on the clock then.
Again, London prices are higher than deeper in the country.

I have a 2.0 TFSI BUL engine.

I upgraded my clutch before my remap, at about 135k miles. Both clutch and DMF were knackered.

I paid £750 for a stage 3 clutch and lightened SMF, labour to fit was a little shy of £300 if I remember rightly. But as said above, you’re better off doing both while your there- peace of mind and all that!

I'd love to know where all you guys are getting those cheap deals.
my local indy which is very good and not silly expensive quoted me just under £1600 for a dmf/clutch fitted to my quattrolast year, luckily it wasn't the clutch but still i hefty bill had it been.

Guy I use charges £50 an hour and done the job in less than 6 hours.

He’s an Audi specialist and has done loads of b7 Quattro’s over the years so I guess the experience paid off in my favour
