I have a 2009 black edition sportback and am struggling to get the mpg in the dis any higher then 36avg I know it's a dsg but I'm sure I should be getting more then that I can guess it's not accurate but driving miss daisy all the time and doesn't help.
Can anyone shed some solutions please and maybe fellow dsg owners see what they get thanks

I have taken to ignoring it, mine reads around 38 usually and my mrs, exactly the same car but sportback so heavier! reads 52 usually, they both do about the same real miles in the same conditions for a given amount of diesel. Therefore I conclude its bollarks.

How many miles do you get on average to the tank? Or to £20??

to 25l ill get about 200-250 miles depending on the road/urban/motorway. So doubling it to a full 50l tank it should be 4-500

Am just trying to do some maths and work on them grounds out how much I should get from the £20 I put in few days ago.
I should add that mines is a 138bhp model and the fact that the service is due now

my mpg has dropped since it got cold...I also noticed the tyre pressures had dropped. check these maybe?
mine is a dsg 2.0 tdi and I usually get 50mpg+ on long runs and 45 urban.
£20 = 150 miles

Well so far I've put £20 in and I've done 85miss daisy miles all urban and I think the lights about to come on again so I'm sure there's something wrong the car hasn't covered much mileage 57k maybe it's just a matter of servicing it not sure:confused:

I have 2009 dsg 2tdi 138 with bluefin so 189ish bhp 80mile round trip to work mostly motorway in rush hour and I get 50ish mpg.

Has the bluefin improved mpg you think?

I have a 55 reg 2.0l tdi s line sportback with 135k on the clock

the avg mpg on mine varies a lot as most my driving is around town.

If i drive a lot during the day its around 33mpg
During the nights if i go out i can keep it around 39-42mpg

£40 i i get around 200-220ish miles (thats filling up from and to a range of around 10mls left local driving)

The more gentle i am with the accelerator and easing off when i can see lights are red ahead and letting the car slow down gradually itself i get much better mpg and miles :thumbs up:

Well I mainly do town driving and I've so far done 95miles the range is sat on 70 miles to go so if I can achieve 130miles from £20 that would be good for a diesel I think

140 with 10mls or so still on the range easily id say.

This time last year i was driving a manual 55 reg 1.2l nissan micra and i was getting around 90 - 110 miles to £20 lol

So id definitely agree with 2.0l diesel not being bad :D

For me, I drive a little harsher in a manual car, DSG just has me relaxed :p

I'll keep ya posted when we get down to 10miles:)

My old car; manual 2.0tdi 140 55reg no mods = 500-520 per tank, comp avg 52mpg and Motorway driving and I didn't hang about.

My current dsg 2.0tdi 170 56reg, = 480 miles per tank, comp avg 41mpg and again motorway driving.

Well thanks for that gives me a rough comparison to mine I haven't been on the mway yet but on dual carriageways I get about 45mpg but mainly use mine for urban and get about 35

Liking the speedlines, just having mine refurbed atm, went to see them today theyre all blasted off and looking clean

Yeah i love the split rims, dont see too many about. I need to get the polished rims refurbed on mine.. What have you been quoted?

I think the average is about £120 a wheel, mine have been fully split and re done completely though

Always thought splits would be expensive to refurb! I'm toying with idea of buying a second set in good condition then selling mine.

If I did that id be getting a set in 19" as they look so much better and bigger I think

Can anyone tell me if I am checking the correct thing for dpf soot levels?

Hows the mpg now?

Must be a change?

Also what did you manage to get from that £20 of diesel :p
OK so I got 125miles with that fuel and trip was saying I have 25miles left but had to go to on mway so had to fill up.

However since yesterday having my service done and belt I've done the avg computer hasn't dropped below 40:cool:
And also I've done 70% mway miles 148 and dis shows I have 75 to go so massive improvement just by servicing it.

Bluefin has made no difference to mpg and only small difference in performance at low rev's.

i may try a tuning box but to be honest the mpg is ok now so not on top of mist to do at the moment

ill be hunting for some rotar alloys and rns e

i have an 07 tdi 170 with DSG and i've got about 280 miles from full tank to half.

this was on a long run to london and back, i normally get 250 miles at least going between birmingham and coventry. now on 380 miles with a 1/4 left. how much do you normally get?

I don't think I'm able to compare to your milage as all my runs are town runs and very odd mway run but if I put £20 or 16 litres I get 130 miles if that helps on fuel convertor it equates to 39mpg
