From memory Audi charge about £400 ish for belt change as part of their fixed price servicing. be surprised if that includes the water pump though.

A good indi is around £300 + £65 for water pump.

doing it with genuine parts at trade price plus £45ish for myself in labour on my drive the weekend before last. cost xtremedetailz £220 including waterpump.
took me about 2 hours inc coffee/fag breaks.
beat that.

Many thanks Murran, I know it`ll be fiddly due the engine bay squash. I`ve a mate who who will do it (when he`s done his kitchen!) with me as his spanner-holder and I`ll only get the garage to do it if he can`t. The local indies £500 sounded a bit much for 4hrs labour when the parts are only about £150. Tim`s £312 from AMD sounded a bit better.

Your local dealer must do but my local obviously doesn't! Refused to budge on there £579 price!
