So while restoring my B5 avant , i had two split hoses so i replaced with Braided RS4 ones , also had the calipers off all and cleaned them up etc, put everything back together all connected up , put in fluid and tried to bleed the system

so bled system no air showing anymore, nice clean fluid, however my pedal just goes to the floor
if you pump it a few times it goes solid, leave it for a min and press again, straight to the floor

Am i missing something ? and how i bled was manually with my mate sat in the seat pumping

any help appreciated

probably air stuck in the rear calipers. Theres a bench bleeding procedure your supposed to do to fill them with fluid and even then it can be an **** to get them to bleed up. A pressure bleeder is very likely going to be required.
