Now I've passed 1500 miles of driving sensibly, I decided to let the car rev a bit higher and see just how this compares to my previous car which was a 2ltr diesel with plenty of torque.
on a clear road, dry and safe with no traffic
, leaving in 4th and seeing what happened passed the usual 2800 rpm.....holy moly the thing just wants to let rip! Without realising it, I was touching 90 and still had a couple of gears to use. Yes I was braking the limit on the motorway but only because I had no idea it would get there so quickly. Yes I miss the torque of the TDI but the petrol isn't that far behind on paper for 0 to 60 and same for the top speed. I'm currently using £30 less per month on fuel!!
All I need now is for the dreaded actuator rod rattle to get fixed and I will be a seriously happy camper.
good luck to everyone this weekend!!
