Hi im looking at getting a forge Split-r for my S3 just wondering what they are like any good?

They are rubbish... get a 007p or 008p...

Not even any good as a recirculating valve as the opening is too small...

Can you not use its as a Blow off valve?

These engines aren't suited to a BOV... you will end up with running problems such as stalling at junctions, rough idle, stalling between gear changes etc...

You need to get a recirculating valve such as a 007p or 008p...

you can but it will confuse the ECU as to how much metered air is in your intake system

hmm thats a waste of time then.
is there any sound from the 007p or 008?

No sound as such but with the help of a remap and a panel or cone filter you will get some... there is not enough boost pressure as std to make any real noise and they are not designed to make much if any noise at all...

If you want the noise, get a remap, panel filter and 007/008p or a scooby :)

All I have is a B5 Tip with cone, using the 007P with no remap and I am very happy with the noise :)

Its weird ive had the splitR since i bought the car and havent had and issues relating to it. Still probably going to switch to 007p though

Is there any advantage of the 008 over the 007p

It is an evolution of the 007p, it has a shorter stroke piston and therefore 'should' operate more quickly and is a little more compact... if you have a 007p its not really an upgrade other than its arguably a nicer design but either will do the job... 008p is a little more expensive IIRC...
