Heated seats

Does anybody know, passenger heated seat working fine, drivers not working - are they on separate fuses? Cheers

should be the far right of 3 fuses under your steering column as pictured towards the top of this pic mate. note that mine is a red 10amp before changing to a 30amp as part of my retro fit

Yes mate. Other side the fuse is behind the kick plate. See my recaros install thread within this same b6 section

hang on... i might have misread the post. do you have full power seats and is it the movement or just the heated element? there's a single fuse in position 44 of the main fuse box (lever off the end cap of the dashboard on the driver's side) for the heating of the seats

Yes full electric seats, but just the heater isn't working on the drivers side. So I was gonna check the fuse first, so was asking where it was.. 👍

sorry for going off in the wrong direction in that case. it's position 44 (bottom left as you look at it) in the main fuse box. open driver's door, use screwdriver etc to lever off the "end cap" of the dashboard. there's a small notch near the bottom to do this. fuses are within.
Although if one side is working and the other isn't I don't see how it could be the fuse. it's just one for both seats. Has there been any work done recently with the head unit or behind the climate control panel? There are a number of wires going into the back of the climate control unit that could affect the heated seats. hopefully any damage would be obvious in there.

And if you slide your seat right back there's a black plastic cover underneath where the wiring goes under the floor. lever up the end nearest the front of the car and the back end unclips. You'll see the 3 plugs going in there and it's worth checking for any obvious signs for damage.

my element has packed up in my drivers seat, the pan section, the rest of my heated seat works fine,

looks like the vertical lift of my new driver's seat isn't working. the motor is turning but there's a nasty grinding sound that suggests to me that the teeth of a cog or rack & pinion somewhere within are knackered. ****

Hmmm, possibly a burnt out element then? Would a fault show on a scan? What section would heated seats come under? ✌

Mate can I ask you a question, I did the comfort recaro mod few years back but they packed in on the same day last winter both front seats , now the rears still work and they all share the same fuse right but I’m thinking maybe a thermal fuse has gone as they both went same day bit odd right , where are the relays for the heated seats ? My car had full leccy seats before the mod and I never uprated anything just fitted the Kefutec looms and off I went , checked all grounds too but again they all share that too and the rears still work …… I need to checked the thermal relays but would my car even had them without the seats from factory?? And if so where am I looking ??

You are replying to a thread last responded to 12 yrs ago mate.... Id suggest starting a new thread but ive tried it myself with no luck and it seems that car forums are pretty much dead these days . Probably due to YouTube and Google, Long gone are the instant responses of the early 2000's....Good luck.
