Just been quoted £260 by my Audi centre for a 12k mile Oil service. Sounds ridiculously expensive for an oil and filter change, can anyone advise what they've paid and where. I need some benchmarks.
Thanks.

I paid £195 for mine last year. £260 seems a bit steep, but the fixed prices referenced above used to apply to cars 3 years old or more - not sure if that's changed now though.

Wait til you get the gearbox oil change, it'll be nearly that amount on its own :-(

£165 for my s-tronic oil change and it did mak a difference, Nottingham Audi. Crap sales, reasonable service desk.

I was quoted £260 for oil and filter for a 3 ltr tdi from Audi ..so I took it to an Audi specialist and he charged me £130 ..and that's using the same oil and genuine filter .. The oil and filter alone came to £110 so his labour was £20 ..! Bargain .!
The dealers are robbing tw@ts .!!!

How on earth is the oil & a filter £110.Scandalous

A small point, but I wonder why they can justify replacing the drain plug at £2.69 inc VAT when replacing the seal is all that is needed?
As you pointed out in the linked thread, listing the top-up oil, giving it a value, then quoting FOC - then charging for it later??
I bought empty top-up VW packs (complete but without oil) via ebay years ago, I'd think that they would have been supplied by VW for including in their just launched PDI engines that required special oil, but sold on by an enterprising member of staff - so I have one in each car with correct oils - which have changed as cars have changed! Old VW top-up packs have a pleasing "flat" finish which looks a bit better than these ultra shiny modern versions.

One issue that I had with these packs, the one in my VW Passat 4Motion slipped down on to its side unnoticed, I stopped at services on the M6 and opened the boot, it was high summer and there was a strong smell of "new clean" engine oil - not what I'd expect to find in the boot!! A small amount of engine oil goes a long way when the lid slackens in the boot!! (I'm now older and wiser - I will not get caught out with that again)

I paid £171.75 at York Audi for my 19,000 service last year.

That's £148.25 for labour and filters (price matched the local indy VAG workshop) and £22.50 for 5 litres of oil that I took in myself for them to use.

Thanks guys. Looks like I'll be haggling again, I think I'll aim for the £170 mark or less if I supply the oil.

Definitely supply the oil. Decent oil is definitely not £12 per litre! If it is the same Quantum 3 stuff I use in my A3 (and dealers use) then 5 litres of 5W30 can be got for <£20. Even if you want something 'better' then you'll make a healthy dealer saving.

For the sake of completeness I now insert the mandatory in threads like this 'you buy an expensive car and dare to quibble about paying £260 to the dealer for an oil service' comment. Don't you know they have to pay for the Audi dealer experience somehow?!

Opie oils had a deal on for the Mobil 1 oil that Audi used for my last service. I got 10l for £65 delivered. Genuine filter from the parts request on here for £7 or 8. Worth checking if Opie still has the deal on. It's the long life but I use it for interim oil changes too.

Yes though I'd think you have your tongue in your cheek there. I'd love to be treated professionally by Edinburgh Audi, but you can see through the "meet and greet" and find there is nothing more than lots of office people behind glass looking at their mobile phones, while up front just lots of "meet and greeters" - time means nothing in there - show with very little go!

Thanks for the replies guys. Managed to haggle the Audi dealer price down to £194, still pricey for a mere oil and oil filter change.
