Remove the subframe and transfer box for extra room. it's fiddly but pretty straight forward.
Yeah I know it's not necessary, but I've found it is the quickest way as you can literally undo the mani bolts, lines and dp and drop the turbo straight out. I see a couple of these a month atm along with clutches![]()
Whenever asked, I always say head off.
It makes the job 10 times easier, as well as meaning you know you have a new HG, and belt to go with the new turbo...
hmmm. interesting.. So you leave the mani in situ and undo the turbo and its line from below? did I read that right?
Both water lines and return. obv the feed line from above lol, I undo the mani bolts and sneak the turbo towards the bulkhead to reveal the banjo.The reason i do it this way is that i had the bottom turbo support bolt snap on me once, so i had to remove the transfer box to remove the support bracket and it actually worked out quicker than the way i was previously using. Out of curiosity, how long does it take you to swap out the turbo bill?
