Is it even worth the paper it written on. To me the fact that the arches go rusty should be covered on it. But I bet it doesn't. Anyone tried claiming on it.

My a4 is a 54 plate and has rust on the passenger side wing on the usual bit went through to my local Audi dealership to see what the would do if anything they took my car away round to the workshop brought it back and told me the readings were all over the place and I had no chance

So I took the car to a local paint shop who said the paint was original and he could prove it when he was fixing the rust due to him sanding it down he would see the layers of paint

He said he had a lot of vag group cars with the same problem one in particular he could remember was a 4 year old Audi tt with rust which Audi had said had already been repaired and was deemed a bad repair so they would not entertain a warranty claim on but this guy had taken pictures when he was rubbing it down which showed that was the original paint on the car

So I think the answer is no chance :sob:

When my s3 was 10 years old i got both roof rails, down into rear quarters resprayed due to the seam rusting. You need to be persistent with Audi UK but they will do it if it is a manufacturing/ design flaw. I emailed some pics of of our A4's wheel arches rusting to the same guy at the paint shop who helped push my claim through and he didn't think that was likely to be a successful claim as they will probably argue its a due to perforation from stones thrown outwards by the wheels. Perforation warranty is 3/4 years.

arches rusting is usually edge rust

to get anything out of the warrenty you really need fash, and touch up stonechips once a week

I'm going to try this out at some point with my local Audi dealer. The paint on my roof gutters is bubbling slightly on the edge and I have small bubble of rust on the tailgate. I'm very disappointed tbh I expected more from Audi. I have heard some success stories on A3s which have the same problem so definitely worth a try.

Tried to claim last year excuse was it had missed 1 service main dealer ? And it needs full dealer history to honour it... As they should pick it up....

Yea that's the number 1 get out of jail card. Full Audi service history.

It's a 51 plate with 156k on the clock. With like 5 different owners.

Full service history ain't happening, and they shouldn't expect it with such a long warranty. The rust is bubbling on the out side of the arch. But they shouldn't offer 12 years if they won't honour it.

All three other arches are rock solid its only the drivers side that's started to blister.

I have a 2004 s line and it has slight bubbling on the drivers side rear above the door by the roof seam.
Audi dealer quoted me around £430 to fix it - this at the standard 70%/75% Audi goodwill gesture - total figure is near £1500.
I figure this is the best i'll get from them although I find it very hard to believe that they haven't had repeated incidents with these models. I don't know what possible excuse they can give for not covering the full repair. A stone chip is fairly unlikely on that part of the car. I also have bubbling on the front passenger arch. Annoying !

Had bubbling on my rear n/s wheel arch. Audi told me it wasn't covered and quoted £1200 for it which I found hilarious! :D
Got it squared at a local bodyshop specialist for £300. Even with Audi 'goodwill' contribution it may be worth checking local places to save yourself some cash

I noticed bubbling just under my rear number plate took it to Audi and they said no its the number plate thats rubbed on the paintwork thats caused that....and I said well the plate has been on the car since it was put on by audi and they were having non of it!!!!

Had bubbling on roof seam above the rear door on off side on my 2004 1.9tdi sport. Took it to my local audi dealer ship who inspected it and then resrayed the roof on 70-30% i ended up paying £256

Both my front wings are pretty much rotten, I took it to Audi and they told me it was due to cheap replacement wings after accident damage which is complete b.....ks because I found an original part number sticker on the inside of the drivers wing.
When I told them 3 out of the 5 cars I'd been to see before buying mine had the same bubbled front wings the guy just shrugged his shoulders and told me it wasn't covered under warranty. They just don't care that a 8 year old car looks like that and is making Audis look cheap and poor quality. My 20 year old E30 BMW had less rust.
I was livid!

Can I ask whether those that made a successful claim have full Audi service history or not?

I got 70% of my replacement wing and bubbling roof gutter repairs paid for by Audi, and my car doesn't have full Audi service history.

^ The 70% offer made to me by Audi was not with full Audi service history. I was pressured to do the work soon as the rep said the 70% offer may not be available at a later date. I get the impression that the dealers are full of Audi head office propaganda and it's extremely annoying that they can't/ won't think for themselves and offer fair but unbiased support. I'm sure they see plenty of similar cases on all models.
As a side note , my 98 b5 a4 has not a dot of corrosion on it. None of the B5s I see about do either- even in the breakers yards.

If just a few of us got a petition together and put it to audi perhaps they would listen (or am i thinking sh1t) because if we didn't buy 2nd hand audi's then they wouldn't sell so many new cars, but its obvious that the paint work on some of the audi's is due to bad repairs or stone chips etc but audi should have not given the 12 year anti corrosion warranty if the have no intention of keeping to there word but then i guess they will tell new customers anything to get them to sign on the dotted line.

My roof is original paint but my car as had some side panels blown in but is paint measuring gadget tried to tell him it had been also painted on the roof which you can clearly see it has not....it does put me off Audi in some ways to buy another and it's not for the b6 rusting it's for the after care when you try and do somethink about it.. It would of been nice to of been offered 70-30 but I'll be getting mine sorted after me hols along with the b5 s4 brakes...

Been offered the Audi 70/30 deal to sort a small patch of bubbling paint in the roof rail but they want full audi service history and trying to get me do book it in. In the end the quote came to just over £500 off the top of my head

Now my car is a 2004 with 50k miles and has full Audi service history until May 2012 this year.........which was still not good enough apparently.

Getting an individual quote from a body shop I always use and trust to compare

This is exactly what they said to me, mine missed 2 service stamps with Audi and was done with receipts by kick fit with previous owner...

They have given me the option to get a basic service for £150 to get records up to date plus the cost of paint repair of £327 (30%) on top.
