HI guys My S3 does appear to be sluggish and has no real turbo kick.My car is the BAM engine has 99k miles and standard in every way.You can hear the turbo spool up but then you dont feel any real power from it.Turbo sounds fine no odd noises but you cant feel the power at the same time as the spool up noise.Cant find/hear any leaks etc.Could the standard DV be duff and leaking air back into the system and where else is is worth investigating if this is not the problem.Other than this the car runs spot on.How much power should I be feeling when it comes on boost as I had a Standard uk Impreza before the S3 and there is quite a big difference in the power delivery for two 225hp cars..Thanks for any pointers..

Have you checked the terracotta pipe from the turbo to the charge pipe ? They fail quite often and are hidden away a bit, mine was worn where it clamps to the turbo and came off, but I didn't discover this at first, was quite frustrating.

Thanks for that didn`t know of that pipe will check it out..

to be honest mate, you won't feel a surge when the turbo spools up really.

S3's are very smooth in the way they deliver the power, and don't really feel 'turbod' as standard.

I guess the only way to be sure would be to meet up with someone else with a standard car and compare, or run it on a rolling road.

Some Vagcom logs would be helpful, to check airflow, but if you've only just got the car, I'd imagine you won't have anything like that yet

Thanks Prawn I have a Sealey VS8650 reader worked well on other VW/Audis will give it a go. I`ve owned the car 6 mths.Although on that the car does feel very smooth so maybe it`s all ok.Would a stage 1 Revo make it feel a bit more "lively" or do you reckon 99k miles is getting on a bit to start tinkering with it though I don`t drive the car hard thanks again...
