Component and/or Version: AIRBAG VW3 V01
Software Coding: 00065
Work Shop Code: WSC 06313
1 Fault Found:
65535 - Internal Control Module Memory Error
00-00 - -

The last one is my main concern, as she wont pass an MOT with the airbag light on.

She also has a very stiff ignition barrel

My old man has been a legend as per and has been fitting parts for the faults. Car is currently at his place.

Engine temp sensor fitted and she now runs smoother and less rich.

Airbag light/error fixed with one of these:

Online reports of this fault code are very vague. But seemingly caused by low battery voltage, which considering this car has been stored for 3 years makes sense. Outside of a new airbag module are the above devices on eBay, for £25 it was worth a punt.

I had fitted a new ignition switch as the steering lock and ignition felt awful. The new one fixed this issue but now triggered an ABS module comms error. The ignition switch was faulty causing intermittent supply to the abs module, fuse 9 on the dash fuse panel.
Old switch returned and new one hopefully won’t be long, from the forums good friend at Crewe Audi.

N75 fault has since disappeared, maybe related to engine temp/ignition switch errors, who knows, il keep an eye on it.

S3 carriers sourced and 312mm discs fitted

I’m in the process of buying a house so the car is on the back burner really. Hopefully be MOT’d and on the road soon. Happy with how she’s turned out anyway.

I’ve kept the facelift rear lights from Adolf, but I actually prefer the pre-facelift so I’m not going to fit them.

Completely stock bar some creation breather hoses.
The S3 front end will be fitted eventually but I need to source some rear lowering springs to match the front coilovers. I could run them at stock height, but who wants to do that.

I check this forum probably once a month if i can remember and its sad to me that this form of media and blogging seems to have died.
Il still prefer this format over facebook groups or Youtube videos.

Anyway, Audrey the little red 8L is still alive, she requires a new battery, and two new doors as they are both rotten at the bottom. Otherwise a belting little car.

I still look out for S3s, Il have another one day, but my spec and condition has yet to be found, and there is ALOT of dogs out there.

See you in another 5 years

Not sure if this true but I was told there are more S3's (99-02) SORN'd than actually on the road.
Perhaps many low milage examples sitting in garages waiting to appreciate or.....?

It’s a real shame the way forums are dying off. A lot of knowledge and knowhow going with them. They’ve been such a great resource for me.

Have kept my own thread up to date over the last 8 years but thanks to my image hosting site pulling out of the UK over this online safety act bs, none of my pictures are visible now. Real shame!

Still visit this site and SRS fairly regularly for a scroll but more often that not very few threads have been updated.

Good to see you here Karl. I suspect my S3 is classed as a bit of a dog now too. Mines SORN'd whilst it gets a new rear subframe after an MOT failure in July

Doors are rotten too

Yes and you. Please keep it alive there’s too many gone to heaven. Doors for the S3 are a bit easier to come by than the A3, you shouldn’t have too much trouble.

I suppose it would be rude not to pimp out some pictures of my RS, that I’m currently missing as it’s in storage over winter months.
None 8L content sorry…
