Hi,

Just recently had one driveshaft replaced on my Audi A3 1997 however when I check it out under the car it seems a little rusty. Shouldn't this of been replaced with a brand new driveshaft?

Chris.

who replaced it?
how much did they charge you?
did they tell you it was new?

i just fitted a 2nd hand one to my S3

The driveshaft was replaced by National, they charged me £190.

They didn't tell me it was new but if you ask for a replacement surely it would be new.

****** hell!
i hope it was new, a none gen shaft i priced up was £135, so if yours was that price, plus £55 for labour thats about right.

I paid £40delivered for my second hand one, and fitted it myself in 30mins.
I'd get on the phone and find out what you paid for :)

Well it looks a little rusty so I don't think it's brand new.

I'm going to give them a call tomorrow to see if it was new or not. The £190 also included tracking which was £30.
