Hi all, been looking at EGR delete kit and on FR&R Tuning website they do the roadsport version and the motorsport version. Both have the same description but look different so i can't make out if one is more suitable for my 2.0 140PD???

Can anyone advise please?

(My car is not currently running any mapping software or performance upgrades)..

Cheers

You want the roadsport version, your engine light will come on but you can get the function switched of if you contact a garage that specialise in mapping/diagnostics ect.

I have the roadsport version and they also mapped out the warning light and egr cycle. Good little cheap and cheerful mod :)

What's the difference between the 2 types?

Aside from about a tenner...

The roadsport retains the anti-shudder valve which can be used to shut off the engine if it needs to, so a good safety feature to keep. The motorsport gets rid of this.

Can the light be mapped out using Vag Com?

Also, a friend of mine says to just blaco the EGR off with a screw in the vacuum pipe..... I'm sure if it does work it's not the best way but it's free!

(I'd rather buy the delete kit).

No you cant map out light with vag-com. Do a proper job and get the kit. Its looks more interesting aswell

That used to work on older model cars but modern cars will throw a cell light if you do that but it will stop the EGR working. Vagcom can turn the EGR down to a very low setting but it cannot turn the EGR off completely.
