1.9tdi strange noise

Hi all,

Just got my 2002 A4 1.9 tdi 130 and all is good (quality is miles ahead of my old mk4 Golf). However, there is just one issue, a strange grinding noise which appears at low speeds between 1500 and 2000 rpm. I thought it may be the turbo, as it seems loudest when when the turbo is spooling up and down.

Anyone have any thoughts ?

Welcome to the club mate. No one really knows what is causing this sound.
There is loads of ppl that did more than 60k miles with it and nothing happens.
