Hi everyone.

Ive got a 2002 1.9TDI Quattro. Few issues and I seem to be getting new ones daily !!!

The one thats really bugging me lately is the starting issue.

Turn ignition on, glow plug light comes on, wait for it to go off and then turn key.

Next thing that happens is the rev counter flies all the way round and the car just cranks over and will not start.
I sometimes have to repeat the procedure 3 or 4 times to get it started.

Once started the glow plug light flashes which indicates a stored fault.

I have used VCDS and the only fault is : 16989 Internal Control Module - ROM error , P0605 - 35 - 10 intermittent.

Anyone have any idea? Ive read it could be anything from ECU to starter motor !!!

For anyone who ever gets this problem I think I have finally sorted it.

Only wouldnt start properly after being left for over 6 hours which I should have said in initial post

Tried crank sensor, cam sensor, starter motor and all the usual suspects but it still did it.

After 6 months of putting up with the issue I purchased a non return valve for the fuel feed line, £2.40 from Merlin Diesel on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131511830461?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Turns out it was a fuel drain back issue.

Hoe this helps people in the future
