Hi all,

I don't know if you guys can help, I've got an A3 8P with a 1.8TFSI with 48k on the clock. I had it remapped by Revo and the guy from Revo commented that it was hesitant when accelerating and it probably just needed a service. It only happens when cold, if I accelerate gently it gets to about 2.5k rpm then just loses power before picking up again. I've since had it serviced by Audi, they said it was all good, and I'm about to put new spark plugs in (as I don't think this was done in the service).

It's one of those things that isn't a problem, but it's getting on my nerves because I know something isn't right. It runs perfectly once it's warm. Any ideas?

Thanks for help in advance.

Yes, they don't change spark plugs every service time. Worth trying as it's the cheapest option to sort your hesitancy. You should have asked the service manager for someone to actually drive your car so they can so they can see/feel the problem, go and see them if the spark plug change doesn't sort the problem. It could be lots of things that can cause this but if doesn't show up on vcds then according to an Audi dealer, there is nothing wrong. Check whether the coil pack recall has been done on your car, if it is one of the affected models/years. Also worth finding an independent VAG specialist for something like this, be much much cheaper in the end and they are just as good as a main dealer.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Yeah I'll change the spark plugs this weekend and see if it sorts it. Wasn't sure whether to mention the remap to Audi just in case they logged it for future reference, but might get them to have a look. I have an SPS to change between stock and stage 1, it only does it when in stage 1, not stock which is a bit odd?

If it only does it when the remap is on, then the Revo map needs tweaking. Sounds like fuelling is at fault here. I would go back to the Revo agent to have this addressed.
